Q15 Can I run OpenVPN on Windows Vista without turning of the UAC?
A: Yes you may. Although it is recommended to turn off the UAC on Vista platform, but if you would still lie to prefer running OpenVPN with UAC turned on, you can. It may give you some problem sometimes as Vista sometimes still does not fully give “administrator” privileges to the programs for running even if you tell it to do so.

Q16 How can I run OpenVPN GUI on Windows XP as a non-
A: Please note that you have to install OpenVPN on Windows XP as administrator and confirm that it is running fine and OK for you. Once this is confirmed then you can do the below steps to make openvpn run for other users on the PC that do not have administrator privileges.
OPTION 1:
- Create a normal Short-
Cut to openvpn- gui- 1.0.3.exe (c:\program files\openvpn\bin\openvpn- gui- 1.0.3.exe) on the desktop. - Right-
click the short- cut and select Properties. - Click "Advanced..."
- Check "Run with different credentials". Click on OK.
- Select Apply or OK.

click this short- cut, you will now be prompted for the username and password of the user you want to run as. - Select "The following user:" and enter username and password with administrator privileges that you used to install OpenVPN.
